Ian Rice – Managing Director
Ian became Managing Director of the Michael Thorne construction business,
taking it from 5 to in excess of 140 staff with additional support
from selected sub-contractors, generating a 40% repeat business
record from loyal customers. The business completes £100k to £5million
projects such as industrial buildings, bespoke projects, agricultural
small works and equestrian work, and ground works all over the
UK.

Michael Chesshire – Greenfinch Ltd
Michael graduated in engineering at Cambridge University and has spent his professional
career since 1975 on the commercial development of anaerobic digestion in
the water, municipal and agricultural sectors. He is managing director of
Greenfinch which specialises in the design, construction and commissioning
of biogas plants. With its R&D facility Greenfinch has researched the
anaerobic digestion of food waste and energy crops over the past ten years,
and has built the UK's first biowaste digester.

James Hygate – Green Fuels Ltd
James established Green Fuels, the European market leader with an installed base
of over 500 biodiesel processors. An active R&D facility has developed
a range of cost-effective automated biodiesel processing systems to enable
economic production close to the source of input oil with minimal environmental
impact.

non-food crops, products and technologies in the UK. The
Centre disseminates scientific and technical information
on these issues as widely as possible in order to increase
knowledge and understanding, to facilitate technology
