Introduction to
Greener for Life
Greener for Life is a company dedicated
to providing a sustainable local food and energy supply for current
and future generations while living in harmony with nature and
the environment.
It covers the whole supply chain to include your home, travel,
school, business and community.
By utilizing local retailer and food processor waste along with municipal and
animal waste we are able to generate renewable power from products that up until
now have mainly gone into landfill.
Anaerobic digestion plays a large part in the process of generating local power
along with biodiesel and bioethanol from agricultural crops such as wheat and
oil seed rape along with waste vegetable oil. The by-products from these processes
can either, in the case of biofuels, be fed back to livestock or, from anaerobic
digestion, go back to the farm land as fertiliser to produce the next crop and
thus complete the cycle of life.
Other technologies such as photovoltaics, solar, woodchip, geothermal, wind and
hydrogen are all covered by Greener for life where appropriate.
Businesses and local communities are able to link into and use
the green electricity, the renewable fuel and the fertiliser knowing
that they have come from a sustainable source and are not having a
detrimental effect on the local environment or damaging the world's
rainforests. This is a major step towards the 60% reduction in
greenhouse gas and CO2 emissions
announced recently by the Government.
Couple this with our pioneering ‘Living a Greener Life’ scheme
and you have the ultimate template for sustainable communities. |
