Cycle
of
Life
The food supply chain can benefit
greatly when a technology called ‘anaerobic digestion’ is applied
to the cycle of life.
The chain begins with photosynthesis – crops and grass turning
light, carbon dioxide and water into glucose creating the bi-product
oxygen – and turns full circle with the waste created by man.
At the heart of the ‘cycle of life’ is anaerobic digestion. You
can see how it supports every element of the cycle – turning waste
into energy in the form of biogas which can be used for combined
heat and power or can be upgraded to biomethane for fuelling vehicles.
This then creates the valuable input of fertiliser at the start
of the cycle creating a virtuous circle.
